PATHOLOGY: Below Knee Amputee
Ambrose “Brose” Doye Jr. grew up in Washington, DC, where basketball was his first language - starting in elementary school - and running became his rhythm from middle school on. He lifted weights in high school, building the frame that carried him into the Army in 1980, serving as a Photolithographic Specialist (E4) until 1987.
On July 10, 2018, a stolen car fleeing police slammed into the left side of his motorcycle. His leg was lost in the crash. Fury followed, but so did fire: six months later he was walking again, refusing to stay down.
Cycling, white-water rafting, and kayaking pulled him back to motion, but the gym called louder. At ATF’s Hyper program, Brose is learning the craft of iron - proper form, smart programming - to pack on pounds and power. His goal is simple and fierce: stay active, stay fit, and prove the amputation never wrote the final chapter.
