Asa was adopted and grew up in Dallas, TX. He had a variety of interests growing up, but especially loved playing basketball and football, hunting, and writing music with his friends. In 2016, he graduated high school and continued on to college in McKinney, TX. There he studied both marketing and sales.
On September 24th, 2020, Asa was at a lake house with some of his friends. Being adventurous, he was climbing a tree until a branch snapped and he fell 22 feet to the ground, landing on his back. He was in shock, but thought everything was okay, until he tried to stand and couldn’t move his lower half.
Asa is diagnosed as a T11 complete spinal cord injury. Since his injury, he’s been working hard in rehab and therapy. During the nine weeks at ATF, Asa is looking forward to getting physically stronger and learning different techniques to make his day-to-day life easier. Ultimately, he is using the ReDefine program to launch himself back into work, finishing school, and wherever life takes him next.
