Emma was born and raised in the U.K. She studied Interior and Spatial Design at a college level. Emma had a very active lifestyle filled with skiing, hiking, and mountain biking.
When she was living in Myanmar her life changed forever in September 2015, after getting a mosquito bite. From the bite she suffered from dengue fever resulting in myelitis. The illness caused damage to the myelin sheath surrounding her spinal cord, leaving her with lost function like a spinal cord injury
When asked what she wants to accomplish in the 9 week program she said, she had many but her main few included the strengthening of her left side, gain more fine motor skills and dexterity, and lastly build endurance. In her personal time Emma has always been interested in art and hopes to return to it after some work. She also wants to be able to go outdoor lifestyle soon.
