PATHOLOGY: Below Knee Amputee
Ian Meyer grew up in Boise, Idaho and had a myriad of passions including mountain biking, hiking, and playing guitar. Being in Idaho, he developed a love for the outdoors from birth. In May of 2016, Ian was involved in a hiking accident during which he shattered his ankle. As a result of surgery and healing complications, he underwent a below knee amputation.
After his injury, Ian pursued a career as a wildland firefighter and is extremely excited to use his time at ATF to push himself physically and mentally to be the fittest and most capable firefighter possible. He is also an accomplished snowboarder and is looking to improve his balance and strength so he can hit the slopes this winter as a competitive para-snowboarder.
