PATHOLOGY: Spinal Cord Injury - Below Knee Amputee

Jason Morgan

Jason grew up in Dallas where he enjoyed and excelled in golf from an early age. He traveled around the country with his team playing different courses and went on to win the state championship. He received a scholarship to Abilene Christian University for golf upon graduating high school in 1988.

He started at ACU but did not finish and chose to answer the call to join the United States Air Force where he served for nine years from 1990-1999. He was a part of an Air Force Special Operations unit where he engaged in mission planning and counter narcotics operations. During an operation in South America, Jason and his team were ambushed and their SUV rolled down a ravine, ejecting Jason in the process. The vehicle then rolled over Jason and broke his back, leaving him paralyzed in muddy shallow water.

Thankfully, an American missionary saw the marks on the road and went down the ravine to check the vehicle for survivors, stepping on Jason and discovering him buried in the mud. The accident left Jason with a broken back, severed spinal cord, and several other broken bones.
