PATHOLOGY: T4 Spinal Cord Injury
Ken grew up in Monterey Park, California, where his early love for baseball shaped his competitive spirit and drive. In January 2020, Ken’s life took an unexpected turn when he was assaulted and suffered a stabbing injury that caused a T4 spinal cord injury.
Following his injury, Ken discovered the power of adaptive sports and the community that comes with them. Becoming part of a network of friends who share similar challenges has helped him grow socially, stabilize his mental health, and find greater happiness in life.
Ken is now the goalie for Reno Ice Sled Hockey, a sport he discovered through the City of Reno Parks & Recreation. Currently entering his fourth season, he’s driven to continue building his strength, completing his time at ATF, and pushing himself further as an athlete. His ultimate goal is to keep growing, both on and off the ice.
