Meet Adaptive Athlete: Leo Yui

Leo enlisted in the US Navy in 2005 and became a seabee, working in infrastructure and equipment operation. He had seven deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan during his service. On one deployment, he had a head contusion that resulted in a TBI. Additionally, the daily grind took a toll on his back and he now has degenerative disc disorder.

 

Now, Leo is coming to ATF to be pushed outside his comfort zone. He wants to develop a solid foundation with the support of ATF trainers. His hope is that the knowledge gained will help him better prepare for his two sports - outrigger canoe paddling and surfing.
