Jason Malvar

Jason was involved in a motorcycle accident in October 2020 which resulted in his left leg being amputated below the knee. A few months before his accident, Jason had committed to a healthier lifestyle. Although losing his leg was unexpected, it acted like a springboard, furthering him into being active.

Less than six months after his accident, Jason was back on an upright bike and snowboarding with his prosthetic. Since then, he’s stayed busy pursuing mountain biking, snowboarding, surfing, triathlon racing, and keeping up with his two daughters, ages 14 and 7. Part of his motivation stems from showing his girls that there’s nothing stopping us from being our best except ourselves.

Jason loves a challenge and can’t wait to push his body beyond previous limits. He’s looking to be a sponge and soak up techniques and training tips that will help excel himself as an athlete. With his love to compete, Jason is hoping to narrow his focus to one sport and pursue it at the highest level of para competition.
