PATHOLOGY: Visual Impairment & Nerve Damage

Jennifer Bush

Jenn is from Norco, California and played soccer growing up. She also ice skated, rode horses, and water skied. Jenn served in the Air Force in Traffic Management and Fire Service/Hazmat, with deployments to Kuwait, Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, and Manas. In 2012, she fell off a 2 ½ ton truck and injured her pelvis, causing nerve damage. In October 2021, Jen experienced detached retinas and myopic distortion, causing vision and depth perception problems.

Jen competes in Highland games (she’s ranked 8th in the world in her class) and does CrossFit, which has helped her back, nerve damage, and vision. She loves wall balls now!  She wants to use her time at ATF to become even more competitive at Highland games and to learn how to progress out of a negative headspace when challenges arise.
