Makayla Noble

Makayla grew up in Indiana and started cheerleading at age 10. Her family moved to Prosper, Texas, where she joined cheer athletics and became a flyer. She competed in the 2018 National Cheerleaders’ Association National Championships and the 2019 Cheer World Championship, becoming a high school All-American for three consecutive years. Makayla was known throughout the cheer world and she had hopes of continuing her athletic career at the collegiate level.

On September 20th, 2021, as a junior in high school, Makayla was injured in a backyard tumbling accident resulting in a severe spinal cord injury to her neck. In addition to the paralysis, her lungs also collapsed while she was at the hospital. She spent three weeks in the ICU fighting for her life. As her body adjusts to the recent trauma, Makayla continues to gain strength daily and is learning how to refire her muscles.

She is now on a new life path, but Makayla remains an athlete. Her grit, determination and will power are now being tested in a new way. Through her time at ATF, she is looking to test her mental toughness and push herself past her current limits. She wants to continue getting stronger and take steps toward gaining her independence back. Her biggest goal is to walk across the stage at her high school graduation next year.
