RJ Nealon

Robert suffered a stroke in the uterine and was born with right hemiparesis, later to be determined as cerebral palsy affecting his right side. As a kid, he always knew there was something different about him, but quickly found ways to adapt, especially when it came to athletics. He played many sports, baseball being his favorite early on.

Eventually, Robert found Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. He loved the physicality of it, but also enjoyed the mental challenge, having to think three steps ahead. Jiu-Jitsu has been a path acting as physical therapy and has brought out a different side of competitiveness within him that he’d never experienced before.

Robert has never competed or trained with any other adaptive athletes. At ATF, he is looking forward to the community of like-minded individuals striving for big goals. He also is excited about the opportunity to gain valuable knowledge and get specialized training for his adaptations.
