Hyper 3 Trevor Kennison Headshot

In 2014, Trevor was snowboarding in the backcountry on Vail Pass when he hit a jump and caught an edge. While in the air, Trevor accidentally started rotating forward. Not wanting to land on his head, Trevor tucked forward and landed on his lower back. He was laying in the snow from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm until the search and rescue team could extract him from the backcountry.

Paralyzed from the waist down, Trevor didn’t want to give up doing what he loved, so he got back out on the mountain, this time on a sit ski. To say he’s excelled at it would be an understatement. Trevor is an incredible athlete and also the first sit skier to land a backflip.

Trevor came to ATF for the ReDefine program for the first time in 2017. Now he’s really looking forward to coming back and experiencing the camaraderie and training with a team of like minded athletes.
