ATF’s Youth Programs are designed to support the youngest adaptive athletes in the DFW Metroplex. With the same holistic approach in ATF’s adult programming, Adaptive Youth Programs support young athletes through physical training, building community, and engaging with peers, all while uniting families and the broader DFW community.
Held on the third Saturday of each month, our two-hour clinics provide targeted adaptive training, confidence-building movement sessions, and meaningful mentorship. Adaptive youth work closely with trainers and alumni athletes who provide encouragement, guidance, and inspiration.
Each June, July, and August, ATF hosts a week-long adaptive camp focused on skill development, belonging, and inclusive play. Each child is paired with an ATF alumni mentor, building relationships that often continue long after camp ends.
Through school and community partnerships, youth programs offer experiential education for non-adaptive youth, helping them understand disability, develop empathy, and model inclusive behaviors.
Our programs are designed for young adaptive athletes (ages 8-18) who are living with physical disabilities and are seeking a supportive community to grow physically, emotionally, and socially. We focus on the "whole child," providing a space where they can build confidence through movement alongside peers who share similar life experiences.
Absolutely! At ATF, we believe everyone is an “athlete," regardless of whether they participate in sports or not. Our adaptive youth programming is about much more than just sports; it is centered on inclusive play, building friendships, and discovering what is possible through movement. Whether your child is highly active or just beginning their journey, they will find a place of belonging here!
Held on the third Saturday of each month, these two-hour sessions offer a high-energy, encouraging environment. You can expect targeted adaptive training and confidence-building movements led by ATF’s Master Trainers. Most importantly, your athlete will work closely with ATF Alumni mentors, graduates of our adult programs, who provide a real-world inspiration and guidance as someone who is thriving with a physical disability.
While our core programming is generally tailored for those aged 8 and up, we are always looking for ways to support the broader adaptive community. We encourage you to reach out to us so we can discuss your child's specific needs and determine if our current programs might be a good fit for your family.
For any specific questions about your child's ability to participate in ATF’s Youth Programming, please reach out to Ava Trompler - Ava@adaptivetrainingfoundation.org
