Meet Adaptive Athlete: Aaron Smith

Aaron Smith is a native of North Carolina where he spent his young adult life trying every sport and outdoor opportunity there was, thus growing his passion for learning new skills and being part of a team. 

 

This passion led Aaron to enlist in the Marine Corps following graduation from college in 2002. He served until 2017, having done multiple combat deployments as a scout sniper and an air support control officer. In 2021, Aaron's left leg was amputated above the knee.

 

Despite his injury, Aaron notes that he has never lost motivation and wants to continue his physical and mental growth throughout the duration of this program and his time at ATF.
