PATHOLOGY: Lumbar Spinal Cord Injury

Angelo Maddaloni

Angelo grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada where he found himself through bodybuilding at an early age, noting that he loved the dedication to honing a craft and the commitment it required. Upon graduating highschool he enlisted in the Marine Corps, where he served dutifully for 20 years, achieving the rank of Gunnery Sergeant.

He was deployed multiple times throughout his career and suffered a traumatic brain injury in 2006 but deployed again in 2007. Multiple traumatic brain injuries caused a loss of vision in his right eye and multiple broken vertebrae left him with a lumbar spinal cord injury.

After retirement, Angelo has participated in wheelchair rugby, wheelchair basketball, seated volleyball, and archery. He wants to keep pursuing his physical and mental goals through his time at ATF and use it as a springboard into his next training cycle.
