Brandon Thomas Headshot

Brandon Thomas was wounded in Afghanistan on August 16, 2013. He and his unit were ambushed and began taking fire from all sides. As a bomb landed right next to Brandon, shrapnel blasted into the right side of his body in his leg, shoulder, and into his neck and back. His wounds caused him to be medically evacuated out of the country where he spent over a month in the hospital. Brandon was lucky to be alive after the piece of shrapnel that went through his neck barely missed his jugular.

Coming back from war, Brandon has worked to overcome not only his physical injuries, but his mental ones as well. He now has two main goals, get healthy physically/mentally and become an example to other veterans. Through this, he enjoys running triathlons, hunting, fishing and telling his story to help those feel more comfortable telling theirs.

Brandon now lives with his wife and daughter in Wylie, TX after being placed on medical retirement.
