Brandon White is a creative soul, with a great career in broadcast editorial and motion graphic design for some of the world’s most recognized brands. In 2016, Brandon had a severe reaction to his sleeping medication that caused him to collapse on his legs resulting in a loss circulation to his extremities (compartment syndrome). Brandon woke up 18 days later to find himself in the hospital, one leg amputated above the knee, the loss of four toes on the other foot, and his right arm lifeless due to a severe brachial plexus injury.
Luckily, a family member found him and saved his life. Brandon understands he may not be able to do things the same way or as fast as he used to, but he does believe he still has what it takes to live a full life in high pursuit of all his dreams. Working intensely through physical therapy, Brandon wants to regain his mobility, to continue being a musician, graphic artist, and outdoor enthusiast.
The next obstacle Brandon looks forward to overcoming is the Annual Challenged Athlete Foundation’s (CAF) Million Dollar Challenge, an annual cycling benefit fromSan Francisco to San Diego in October 2019. He would like to one day have his own sponsored team made up of friends and fellow amputees riding to benefit future adaptive athletes. Team ATF here we come!
