PATHOLOGY: Above Knee Amputee

Chase Nicklin

Chase Nicklin grew up in Port Alberni, where hockey, snowboarding, hunting and fishing were a big part of his life. He has always been drawn to sports and the outdoors, and competition remains a major part of who he is.

In March 2021, Chase was riding his dirt bike when he lost control and collided head-on with a truck, resulting in an above-knee amputation. After the injury, he spent months in physical therapy learning to move and function with his new leg.

Chase discovered adaptive athletics through Paralympic Gold Medalist, Tyler Turner, in 2023 and has since focused on becoming a better athlete. He wants to improve his body mechanics, move more efficiently and continue developing the skills needed to compete at the highest level.

His goal is clear: a World Cup podium. At Hyper, Chase wants to sharpen his movement, push his physical limits and take another step toward competing among the best in his sport.
