Corey joined the US Navy out of high school and served as a corpsman. He was deployed to Iraq, Kuwait, and Jordan to treat Combat wounded personnel. During his service he also pursued becoming a Special Amphibious Reconnaissance Corpsman (SARC) with Marine Recon.

In March 2019, while serving in Arizona, Corey fell backward hitting his head on concrete, causing him to fracture his skull and have a brain bleed. His traumatic brain injury led to severe cognitive impairment which he is still recovering from and most recently has led to seizures.
