PATHOLOGY: Bilateral Below Knee Amputee
Dylan Davis grew up in Denver, Colorado, immersed in action sports. Skateboarding, BMX, snowboarding, hiking and mountain biking were more than hobbies, they connected him to a community built around support, progression and shared adventure. That culture shaped the way Dylan approached life: keep pushing, keep learning and surround yourself with people who want to see you succeed.
In August 2022, a skydiving accident changed everything. A hard landing left Dylan with bilateral lower-leg amputations, a broken back, a fractured pelvis and ribs, and a collapsed lung. A second amputation followed in 2024. Recovery has been a rollercoaster physically, mentally and socially, including periods of addiction, depression, and isolation.
His focus now is strength and independence. He wants to rebuild his left glute, quad and core so he can return to the mountains, hike with the friends who have supported him throughout recovery and eventually return to skydiving and BASE jumping. He also wants the endurance to travel and explore South America with close friends and family.
Dylan knows there is still work to do mentally, but he is in a very different place than he was two years ago. At ReDefine, he wants to keep building on the progress he’s already made while challenging his physical limits and continuing to become the person capable of doing the things he wants to do.
