Meet Adaptive Athlete: Gloria Downey

Major Gloria Downey served for seven years in the US Air Force working as a Judge Advocate Officer. During a combat deployment to Iraq in 2007, Gloria endured multiple blasts which resulted in head, shoulder, neck, and back injuries. She retired in 2009, but did not receive surgeries she needed until 2017.

 

As someone who’s been active her entire life, Gloria is excited to tap back into her inner athlete. During her time at ATF, she wants to reawaken her competitive spirit and use this as a launchpad into returning to her passions for fitness.
