PATHOLOGY: Multiple Sclerosis
Justin Wolfe grew up on Marine Corps bases across the country, part of a military family that instilled in him a love for discipline and competition. He spent his early years playing soccer and later competed in taekwondo throughout the Midwest. In 2003, Justin enlisted in the Air Force, where he served over 13 years in aerial port operations with deployments to Iraq, Germany, Qatar, and the UAE.
At 27, Justin was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis but managed to keep it quiet while continuing to serve. After receiving orders to Colorado in 2015, the progression of the disease made it impossible to meet physical standards, and he was medically retired in 2016 as a Technical Sergeant. The years that followed were marked by depression, isolation, and a search for purpose, until adaptive sports opened a new chapter. Since 2023, Justin has competed in the Warrior Games and was named to Team U.S. for the 2025 Invictus Games.
Hand cycling, especially on mountain terrain, has reignited his competitive drive and helped him redefine what’s possible. At ATF, Justin hopes to continue evolving as an athlete by finding training strategies and modalities that work for him.
