PATHOLOGY: Trauma

Leah McClure

Leah McClure grew up in Huntley, Illinois, where she developed a love for running at an early age. Drawn to the mental grit and strong sense of community, she competed throughout her youth and into college. After earning her degree, Leah commissioned into the U.S. Army in 2010 and served as a First Lieutenant until 2014.

Years of overuse injuries from competitive running, military rucking, and limited recovery eventually sidelined her. By 2011, the cumulative toll on her body left her unable to run, and she’s now been away from the sport for over seven years. The absence of that daily outlet has been deeply challenging, both physically and mentally, leaving a gap in routine and identity.

Now, through her time at ATF, Leah is focused on rebuilding her foundation, working on core engagement and hip stability with the hope of running again. She also has a growing interest in adaptive swimming or mountain biking. During Hyper, her goal is to reconnect with movement, rediscover confidence, and reclaim the mental clarity that sport once offered.
