Meet Adaptive Athlete: Logan Knowles

Logan Knowles

DOB: June 21st, 2000

Adaptation: Cerebral Palsy

Sport: Para Alpine Ski Racing

Logan Knowles

At birth, Logan’s body crashed, leaving him without the supply of oxygen for ten minutes causing him to develop cerebral palsy that affects all four of his limbs. He was told that he would never be able to walk, but that didn’t stop him from trying. At four years old he began training to walk and by the age of 11, he had learned how to walk independently, without any assistance.

Logan competes in para alpine ski racing and began competing at the age of 13. He has also competed in golf championships,, but has recently shifted his focus full-time to ski racing in order to be the best he can be on the mountain. Logan trains with the National Ability Center during the winters and looks for opportunities to compete.

As an athlete, Logan works to find his own ways to improve and he’s excited for the opportunity to discover new ways to increase control of his body and spasms along with pushing him to the next level of ski racing, ultimately working toward his goal to compete in the Paralympic winter games.
