Max Cameron (1)

Max was born in Los Angeles, California in 1968. The son of a pastor and social worker, Max had a good childhood, full of playing sports and music and riding anything motorized. At the age of 17, Max fronted a hard rock band from 1986 to 1994, during which time he got married and had his first son.

Max “settled down” after his rock years with a career in art and design. He started his first job as a production artist for Disney and Universal Pictures and after 25 years, ended as VP of Creative and Product Development for the company.

On June 14, 2018, Max was in a motorcycle accident resulting in the breaking of all major bones on his right side, a broken lower back and pelvis, a punctured lung, a TBI, and a damaged optic nerve in his right eye. After eight months in the hospital, his left leg was amputated in February of 2019.

After his amputation, Max thought his life was over and that he wouldn’t be able to have his old life back. That’s when his doctor and prosthetist told him about ATF. Three weeks later, Max came to the gym and saw an athlete named Derrick working out and was immediately inspired. If Derrick could do it, so could he. With the goal of living as he did before his accident, he applied to the program. Once he was accepted, he had the new goal of doing what he thought was impossible.
