PATHOLOGY: Traumatic Brain Injury
Micah Lane grew up in the military town of Colorado Springs, Colorado. This environment inspired Micah to participate in JROTC in high school as well as join the drill team and color guard. He really enjoyed the structure and discipline they provided him at such a young age and critical time in his development. Being in Colorado, he also loved spending time outdoors hiking and playing in the creek behind his neighborhood.
Following his graduation from high school, he enlisted in the United States Army and served for six years as an infantryman in 2nd Ranger Battalion from 2008 to 2014. Micah deployed six times to Iraq and Afghanistan and endured combat throughout. During his service, he sustained a number of traumatic brain injuries from falls and blast exposure as well as a herniation of his L5-S1 area in his spine. Micah ended his service in 2014 where he then went on to flight school, commercial dive school, and the Netherlands to study artificial intelligence.
Post service, Micah struggled to find his place despite the achievements he made professionally. He tried different talk therapies and medications, but his true healing came when he found his faith in God. He hopes to continue not only his spiritual growth but his physical one as well, through ATF. He wants to establish a routine of hard work and dedication to himself, in order to be an asset to others around him.
