Meet Adaptive Athlete: Robert Rodriquez

PFC Robert Rodriquez, US Army

DOB: 1992

DOI: 2015

PATHOLOGY: Trauma

Robert Rodriquez

Robert grew up moving frequently through foster care, navigating a childhood focused on survival rather than sports or hobbies. In 2015, he began experiencing significant PTSD, which was further impacted by his time in the Army, where he served from 2012 to 2016.

The combination of his childhood experiences and military service has posed challenges both physically and mentally. Robert has worked to process trauma while exploring adaptive sports, finding that physical activity helps him rebuild strength and resilience.

He recently began participating in adaptive training and hopes to gain mental fortitude alongside physical conditioning. His ultimate goal is to reconnect with himself, regain confidence, and continue building a sense of purpose through sport.
