PATHOLOGY: Above Knee Amputee
Saxon Reynolds grew up in Herndon, Virginia, known for his fearless, competitive nature and drive to push limits. Whether it was football, basketball, running, mud runs, or martial arts, he gravitated toward anything that tested his strength, discipline, and resilience. He thrived on challenge and lived by a mindset of proving that anything was possible, a mentality that carried into every part of his life - including being an active, engaged father to his children.
On July 10, 2022, Saxon’s life changed dramatically after a severe motorcycle accident left him trapped between vehicles, resulting in the loss of a limb and a cascade of life-threatening injuries. In addition to his amputation, he sustained a traumatic brain injury, pelvic fracture, broken jaw, and eye socket, followed by a stroke and temporary loss of speech. His recovery has been long and complex, involving 26 surgeries and years of intensive rehabilitation, with both physical and emotional highs and lows along the way.
Throughout this journey, Saxon has faced not only the physical toll of his injuries, but also the mental and emotional weight of rebuilding his identity. Periods of isolation, loss of confidence, and uncertainty have challenged him, but he continues to push forward - committed to finding himself again and creating a life rooted in purpose and growth.
Through the ReDefine program, Saxon is focused on rebuilding his strength, endurance, and mindset while embracing this next chapter fully. He is driven to lead by example for his children, advocate for others facing similar challenges, and prove that even through adversity, it’s possible to rise stronger, more focused, and more intentional than before.
