PATHOLOGY: Below Knee Amputee

Spencer Bolingbroke

Spencer grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah where he participated in several physical activities including BMX, snowboarding, and organized sports. After high school, Spencer joined the United States Marine Corps as an Infantryman. He qualified as a sniper and deployed to Iraq, seeing combat in 2005.

In 2022, Spencer broke his tibia and fibula. After six surgeries and a staph infection, he made the decision to have his leg amputated below the knee. During recovery, the injury stopped Spencer from participating in sports and being social. He stayed positive during the healing process, but did experience times of doubt and defeat.

Spencer wants to be an example for his kids on how to overcome pain and worry, and show them all of the amazing things the world has to offer. His goal is to get in better shape, pushing himself and becoming more active as he progresses.
