Meet Adaptive Athlete: Stephanie Lipieko

Stephanie, known as Stef, grew up in Norfolk and has always enjoyed reading, music, and spending time with friends. In August 2024, she suffered a stroke that left her with compromised mobility in her right arm and leg. Since then, she has been living with her parents while focusing on recovery and adjusting to new daily challenges, including no longer being able to drive or work.

 

Stef served six years with the Norfolk Police Department, working in street patrol, CRO, and beach units. Her career was centered on serving her community and working alongside her team in high-demand environments.

 

Now referred to Kaizen through Emily, Stef is committed to getting stronger both physically and mentally. Through ReDefine, she hopes to continue rebuilding her independence and confidence while pushing herself to regain strength.
