Stephen LaSalle

Stephen La Salle grew up in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, with a love for anything adventurous. Today, he competes in triathlon, pushing himself across swimming, cycling and running while continuing to discover what he is capable of as an athlete.

In 2018, while serving in the Navy, Stephen damaged the ligaments and nerves in his foot during physical training. The injury developed into Complex Regional Pain Syndrome and ultimately led to the amputation of his lower left leg. The physical change had a major impact on his mental health and compounded the effects of PTSD.

Stephen found his way into triathlon in 2023 and has continued challenging himself through the sport. Now, he wants to build more confidence in himself, become a stronger and more competitive triathlete, and better understand what he needs to perform at his highest level. At Hyper, he hopes to keep pushing those limits, physically and mentally.
