PATHOLOGY: Neurological & Spinal Cord Injury

Tanner Bruce

Tanner grew up in Little Rock, Arkansas and Garland, Texas. He developed a passion for football and played through high school and college. He also enjoyed playing golf. After graduating from South Garland High School, Tanner attended Oklahoma State University, playing football and earning a Bachelor of Science degree.

Throughout his football career, Tanner experienced multiple concussions. While these injuries started his neurological symptoms, a major incident in 2020 changed his life drastically. Tanner was changing a vehicle tire when it exploded, striking him in the head and causing a severe TBI. The aftermath of the accident had a severe negative impact on his life, and the road to recovery from the injury has not been easy.

Tanner wants to use his time in the ReDefine program to improve himself physically and mentally. He wants to become healthier and develop positive habits in his life so that he will be better able to help others. He is passionate about serving other people, and hopes his experiences at ATF will aid him in that goal.
