Injury: Above Knee Amputee

Class 25 Veronica Ko wide (1)

LTC Veronica Ko served for 21 years in the US Army. She was deployed during Operation Joint Endeavor, Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom, and many other tours. After her retirement in 2013, Veronica pursued a new career path to fulfill her childhood dream of becoming a pilot. By 2017, she was an FAA Certified flight instructor.

On August 17th, 2017, while on her way to conduct a flight instruction lesson, Veronica was hit on her motorcycle by a commercial vehicle. The majority of the impact was to her left leg and less than a week later, it had to be amputated above the knee. Veronica was determined to get back on her feet. That December, she was upright skiing, and she returned to her role as a flight instructor by April 2018.

Veronica is used to moving at 200mph, but has been halted by nerve pain and finding the best ways to adapt her fitness. During her time at ATF, she is looking forward to gaining an understanding of the physical side and also diving deeper into refreshing her mental state.
